Cofco Books First Argentina Corn Cargo to China in 15 Years

01. April 2026 um 19:47
Cofco International Ltd. said it is loading a bulk cargo of Argentine corn to China, in what will be the first such shipment in more than 15 years as the two countries expand agricultural trade.

Grains are loaded onto a ship along the Parana River waterway at the Molinos Agro grain processing and crushing facility in Rosario, Santa Fe province, Argentina, on Friday, May 16, 2025. China signed a letter of intent with exporters in Argentina to buy about $900 million of soybeans, corn and vegetable oil, the latest indication that the Asian nation will avoid sourcing from the US during President Donald Trump's trade war.
